Frequently Asked Questions

Not necessarily. Many foreign buyers hold property in their personal name or through a fideicomiso (bank trust) if the property is in the restricted zone. However, for income-generating or multi-property portfolios, a Mexican company or trust structure may offer liability protection and tax efficiency. We’ll help you choose the best option.


A fideicomiso is a bank-held trust required for foreign individuals purchasing property within 50 km of the coast or 100 km of the border. The property is held in trust for you, and you retain full rights to use, rent, sell, or transfer it. We coordinate the entire fideicomiso setup on your behalf.


Yes. Rental income earned in Mexico is subject to Mexican taxes, even if you're a foreigner. You are required to register with SAT (Mexico’s tax authority), obtain an RFC, and issue digital invoices (CFDIs). We manage all monthly and annual tax filings for our clients.
